How to install DayZ on a MacPosted by willymeaux on 1/8/13 at 9:18 pm
To my fellow Mac gamers on TD, here are the steps to get DayZ working on a Mac. I got this directly from the DayZ forums
1. Install windows on your Mac using Bootcamp.
Full instructions on how to install windows using bootcamp here
2.You must download a catalyst for your integrated video card
Go to this LINK
Fill in the information about your BootCamped Mac under 'Download Drivers'
Download & install the suggested catalyst for you
ex: Mac Graphics > Apple Bootcamp > MacBook Pro > Windows 7 - 64 bit
3. See if your Mac is capable of running it.
Go to this LINK
Select ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead
Click 'Can You RUN it?'
Note: Ignore the video card information, because it doesn't register the catalyst on this site. As long as your Mac is OS X version 10.5 or greater you should have no problem. It will most likely tell you that you failed, when in reality you didn't
4. Buy Arma II: Combined Operations, which includes: Arma II and Arma II:Operation Arrowhead, BOTH are required to install DayZ. I recommend buying it with Steam cause its all digital.
5. Install DayZ. I recommend that you use DayZCommander.
6. Play DayZ
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

try downloading the catalyst on the windows, and install it and see if that works.

Not all macs use AMD, my old one had a nvidia card. Those drivers can be found HERE!

Yeah, I hear Boot Camp is the way to go. Parallels results in massive quality reduction, as does other things like Wine wraps.

DayZ game details
Based on the Arma II mod, DayZ is a standalone zombie survival game where the players are usually a greater danger than the undead. Death comes fast and is permanent, so don't get too attached to your gear. DayZ is still in Early Access, so requirements might change, but an Intel Core i5-2300/AMD Phenom II X4 940 and a GeForce GTX 570/Radeon HD 7750 is recommended. It's also one of the best zombie games on PC.
